Headed by composer Jievaras Jasinskis, Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble 11 is making its debut this summer at the Pažaislis Music Festival. Even though the JJAZZ orchestra is associated with jazz music, Jasinskis says that today, the boundaries between jazz and modern music, rock or electronica are disappearing, because more and more musicians are looking to discover new shades and weave jazz music with different styles. This is precisely the programme that the ensemble will present to listeners at the Pažaislis Music Festival together with The Voice of Lithuania winner Kotryna Juodzevičiūte. This talented performer, who writes her own songs and has put together the KJ Collective, is currently spending a considerable part of her time at London recording studios.
The original songs by Dorotėja Būdaitė and Jievaras Jasinskis that will be played at the concert invite listeners to look together for an answer to the question of why we constantly think that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. In the “Greener Grass” programme, jazz music will intertwine with elements of various other musical styles, and the lyrics will encourage you not to be afraid of new ideas and the desire to discover something new.
