About performer

One of the most distinctive figures in Lithuanian music, composer Feliksas Bajoras, celebrated his remarkable 90th birthday in 2024. An unpredictable creator who refuses to compromise, Bajoras continues to amaze with his original perspectives on traditional genres and his unique blend of ethnic and contemporary music.

Renowned for her exceptional stage charisma, Giedrė Kaukaitė was the first to perform and popularize several of Bajoras' vocal works. By masterfully combining refined classical vocals with the authentic style of a folk singer, Kaukaitė established a unique tradition of interpretation. "The Kaukaitė era," Bajoras once said, describing not only his own golden age but that of the entire Lithuanian vocal music tradition.
