Solo concert | Arkady Gotesman

The Lithuanian percussion landscape is unimaginable without Arkady Gotesman - one of the most creative representatives of the music scene.

Arkady is interested in shadows, theatre buildings, where hints of various scenarios can be seen, new percussive sounds that one does not hear but feels. Gotesman's music is full of voices, new combinations of instruments, magic and poetry. He performs solo, specifically virtuosic and theatrical parts of his own works, and collaborates with different styles of musicians. The compositions are quite marked by a polyphony of collectivity and improvisation, with many unusual spells, hand movements, humour, eccentricity and the originality of African drumming music.

Recently inspired for solo performance, Arkady resembles a master of the language of a greatly expanded drum complex, the essential percussion colourist, for whom a layer of sound - each ghostly overtone - from each note is the inner echo of the human voice, a true and surreal vision of hyper-reality.
