Event information
International Contemporary Art Fair ArtVilnius’26
ArtVilnius'26, the 17th International Contemporary Art Fair, will take place from 1 to 4 October 2026 at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre, LITEXPO. The largest art fair in the Baltic region, ArtVilnius presents the contemporary art scene and offers the opportunity to meet leading galleries, artists, curators and representatives of art institutions from Lithuania and abroad.
Each year, the fair brings together around 70 galleries and institutions from more than 20 countries, drawing some 21,000 to 23,000 visitors. Diana Stomienė is the Fair's director and Sonata Baliuckaitė Arlauskienė its Artistic Director. ArtVilnius is organised by a public institution of the same name, established by the Lithuanian Art Gallerists' Association.
Highlights – Vilnius, Warsaw, Vienna
The international art fair ArtVilnius’26 will focus on three art capitals: Vilnius, Warsaw, and Vienna. The theme of this year’s fair will allow visitors to delve deeper into the contemporary art scenes of these three European capitals, listen to the cultural dialogue between them, reflect on their shared historical experiences, and discover current art trends.
The Project Zone
This year, the Projects Zone in Hall 4 at Litexpo will be curated by Neringa Bumblienė, the director of the Nida Art Colony at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, as well as the artistic director and curator of the Vilnius Biennial of Performance Art. She notes that this year’s Project Zone traces a diagonal line westward from Vilnius, connecting the art scenes of the three capitals in our broader region. Each of these cities – Vilnius, Warsaw, and Vienna – has its own distinct history, artists, and active institutions. This unconventional approach, which compares Vilnius to Warsaw and Vienna, broadens the established boundaries that define our region. It allows us to discover unexpected connections and differences and to view ourselves and others, whether in our immediate or more distant neighborhoods, from different perspectives.
Exhibition The Path
The fair will feature the traditional international exhibition of sculptures and installations, The Path, which will include artists selected by guest curator Aliaksei Barysionak, an art curator and writer from Vienna.
Additional Program
The artistic program of ArtVilnius’26 will be complemented by discussions, lectures, presentations of art publications, an educational program, and guided tours led by art critics. As in previous years, a jury of experts will select the fair's best participants. The Young Collector stand, featuring works of art selected by curators and priced at no more than 1,000 euros, will also be presented this year. A series of talks and discussions titled ArtVilnius Talks will also take place during the fair.
ArtVilnius’26 is financed by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and sponsored by the Vilnius City Municipality. The law firm Cobalt serves as the Maecenas, and the Eika Group is the General Partner.
