RYUICHI SAKAMOTO – THE POET OF SOUND PIANIST DARIUS MAŽINTAS

On 22 November 2026, at Rokiškis Manor, music of extraordinary sensitivity will fill the hall as the piano works of one of the most remarkable composers of our time, Ryuichi Sakamoto, come to life in the interpretation of pianist Darius Mažintas.

This special concert is dedicated to the memory of the musical genius who passed away several years ago – an artist whose music became poetry of sound and silence, a subtle dialogue between fragility and light.

Infused with Eastern aesthetics and a universal sense of beauty, Ryuichi Sakamoto’s music invites the listener on an inward journey. A breath of melancholy blends with luminous flashes of light – each note feels like a gentle touch upon the human soul, opening the door to its deepest emotions.

Darius Mažintas is an acclaimed Lithuanian pianist recognised both at home and internationally, known for creating rare moments in which time seems to stand still. His interpretations combine tranquillity and deep concentration with passion and intellectual depth. His extensive international performing experience allows him to approach Sakamoto’s music with respect and sensitivity, while retaining a sense of artistic freedom.

The concert at Rokiškis Manor is also special because this programme is leaving Vilnius for the first time. Following four sold-out performances of the Ryuichi Sakamoto programme in Vilnius, it will embark on a musical journey through Rokiškis, Palanga, Kaunas, Kėdainiai, Anykščiai, Birštonas and Klaipėda. We are delighted to bring this exceptional programme to music lovers in Rokiškis and offer them the opportunity to experience it live in the beautiful setting of Rokiškis Manor.

The evening of 22 November will be more than a concert. It will be an intimate encounter with music that invites us to pause, listen and remember what truly matters.

A gift not only for devoted music lovers, but for anyone searching for meaning, stillness and beauty.
