This spring, the music of Ryuichi Sakamoto filled St. Catherine’s Church with sold-out audiences and left listeners with a lasting sense of light and silence. Now, at the close of the year, this special program returns - even more intimate, even more tender.

On December 31st at 3 PM, only 50 lucky listeners will have the opportunity to experience 45 minutes of pure musical radiance in the cozy hall of the New Opera Studio, right in the heart of Vilnius Old Town. It will be an evening when the world slows down for a moment, and Ryuichi Sakamoto’s piano music becomes a gentle farewell to the passing year - like a final warm breath before a new beginning.

Pianist Darius Mažintas, whose sensitive and transparent interpretations filled Vilnius’ largest church in the spring, will now perform as if every note were meant for you alone. In this intimate space, Sakamoto’s works will unfold even more delicately, even more warmly - like the soft flame of a lantern guiding you into the calm of a new year.
