About performer

Recital by Simonas Poška, Second Prize Winner of the IX International M. K. Čiurlionis Piano Competition. This recital beautifully intertwines the works of M. K. Čiurlionis, F. Chopin, O. Messiaen, and Simonas Poška himself. In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of one of Lithuania's most prominent artists, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, the concert will symbolically begin with his preludes.

Frédéric Chopin's nocturnes and études will invite the audience into the lyrical world of Romanticism, while Simonas Poška's and Olivier Messiaen's compositions will, through their unique musical language, transport listeners to rarely explored mystical and spiritual realms.
