Event information

This year, the international festival “Tauragė Jazz” invites you to an exclusive meeting with the Japanese jazz scene – on August 5, pianist and composer Keiko Borjeson will perform at the Tauragė Jazz Festival. The concert will take place at the Lauksargiai Evangelical Lutheran Church.

“Keiko is often called a kind of antidote to bad news. And not without reason – her music is full of light, lightness and sincerity, and each piece tells a unique, upbeat story,” say the festival organizers. According to them, this artist’s performance is not only a concert, but also an emotional experience that allows you to step back from everyday life and immerse yourself in the lively, improvisational world of music.

Born in Tokyo, Keiko Borjeson began her musical journey very early – she started playing the piano at just three years old, and appeared on television for the first time at the age of five. During her career, she has become a regular guest at international jazz festivals and has performed in various countries around the world – from Europe to Asia and Africa.

The performer has won significant jazz awards, including the Jazz Audio Prize and Jazz Critics awards for her recordings. Her music is described as elegant, rhythmic jazz with a distinct bebop flavor, combining technical mastery and a unique creative style.

Keiko's philosophy is no less important - she improvises not only on stage, but also in life. "All life is improvisation. There is no time for rehearsals," says the performer, whose work makes spontaneity one of the main values.

At the Tauragė Jazz festival, Keiko Borjeson will perform together with famous Lithuanian jazz musicians - saxophonist Laimonas Urbikas and drummer Edmundas Federavičius. This international meeting of musicians promises an exceptional musical experience, where different cultures, improvisation and the live pulse of jazz will intertwine.

The evening of August 5th at the Lauksargiai Evangelical Lutheran Church will be yet another proof that "Tauragė Jazz" is a festival where music not only sounds, but also connects the city, people and the world. This is a beautiful friendship between Lithuania and Japan, revealed through music.
