We invite you to Gothenburg Alternative Orchestra (GAO), which appeared in the music world in 2013 due to Jorge Alcaide (initiator and artistic leader) - concert “Diversity Soul” at Dūmų fabrikas, where different cultures and ethnicities come together to create a harmonious and dynamic music experience. The music in this concert plays a significant role in communicating the message of diversity. Music from various cultures contributes vibrancy, creating an atmosphere of celebration and acceptance. Diversity is not just a concept, it is a soul that resides in every individual. It is the unique combination of our culture, upbringing, language, beliefs, and traditions that make us who we are. About performer

GAO - (Gothenburg Alternative Orchestra) was established in 2013 by Jorge Alcaide, who is the artistic director and the head composer of the orchestra. The idea of the orchestra was, and still is, to explore the concept of an orchestra with diversity and creativity as a basement. The musicians lives in Gothenburg - Sweden, but many of them have their background in other countries: Spain, Senegal, Iran, Kurdistan, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Belgium, Czech republic, Denmark, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil. The number of musicians can vary between different projects, but normally around 25 members are active.GAO takes advantage of the musical diversity that already exists in society and transcends different genres and traditions through the different knowledge and backgrounds of the musicians. As artists / musicians, we also want to be part of the discussion about the role of art in society. We want to be part of the creation of society and this not only through our art but also in the creation of new organisms that can in turn generate new forms of art and cultural expressions.
