Eimutis Kvoščiauskas | Grandma, Who Was Called a Bandit
Event information
A solo performance based on true events, exploring family history, freedom, and courage.
Actor Eimutis Kvoščiauskas invites audiences into a sensitive and deeply personal story shaped by family memories, archival materials, and years of historical research. At its heart is his grandmother, Ona Liutvinaitė-Kvoščiauskienė, a woman who joined the Lithuanian partisan resistance — and whose choices changed the fate of an entire family.
Alongside her story are those of partisan brothers and a young son who was left to grow up without his mother — reminding us that the scars of occupation were carried not only by those who fought, but also by the children they left behind.
Grandma, Who Was Called a Bandit is a solo performance rooted in documentary theatre and storytelling. A live performance by the actor intertwines authentic family memories, archival material, video projections, and original music created especially for the production.
It is a personal, moving, and powerful experience that invites audiences not only to remember Lithuania’s history, but to see it through the fate of one family.
