ABOUT THE PROGRAMME BODY AND MEMORY
At the centre of the programme is a non-verbal language of sound in which timbre, breath, articulation, and microtonality become part of embodied experience. Through extended vocal and string techniques, sound functions not only as musical material but also as a somatic experience - the listener's body itself becomes a resonating space.
Improvisation plays an essential role, opening up the relationship between control and chance, intuition and spontaneous response. Through the performers' attentive interaction, embodied memory emerges in sonic patterns where individual experience meets collective musical action.

About performer
ABOUT EDGY PALATES
“Edgy Palates” is an experimental vocal music trio consisting of composers Dainora Aleksaitė, Ieva Parnarauskaitė, and Jūra Elena Šedytė, who create original compositions, free improvisation programs, and performative shows. In their work, extended vocal techniques serve as a means of exploring the human voice as a multifaceted instrument. By boldly experimenting with sound, form, and performance styles, the performers push the boundaries of vocal expression and challenge tradition.
ABOUT CHORDOS
Founded in 1997, the Chordos String Quartet is one of Lithuania's longest-running contemporary music ensembles. Over almost three decades, the quartet has given more than 400 concerts, premiered and performed numerous works by Lithuanian composers, and collaborated extensively with artists from different disciplines. In 2024, the quartet's members received the Lithuanian Government Award for Culture and Arts.
