Domas Aleksa is undoubtedly one of the most prominent bass guitar virtuosos in Lithuania. His last concert tour took place in China six years ago, and now Domas returns with a new album, "TRIPPIN," recorded with vocalist Nnaji, from Berlin's R&B and neo-soul scene. Prepare for a musical journey from soul to rock, jazz to hip-hop!
Domas Aleksa is a composer, producer, and initiator of international projects. His instrument can be heard not only in the concerts and recordings of the most well-known jazz groups in the country but also in pop and electronic music ensembles. In 2012, the bassist joined D. Pulauskas' group, performing at numerous prestigious international jazz festivals, including those in London, Ottawa, Tokyo, and major festivals in Africa, China, India, and South Korea. Domas has played on more than 40 albums of various music styles, including four solo albums.
Nnaji is a soul and R&B vocalist, songwriter, and music producer. He was born and raised in Berlin but has been living in Lithuania for some time. The soloist has gained recognition by performing with the German National Jazz Orchestra and organizing his neo-soul jam sessions in Berlin. Nnaji's vocals seamlessly blend different musical styles, immersing listeners in a pleasant, soulful atmosphere.
Composer, arranger, electronic music producer, and multi-instrumentalist Liutauras Janušaitis is best known in Lithuania as a jazz saxophonist. He is the first Lithuanian to graduate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, and continues to play in the "Boylston Jazz Quartet" with classmates from Japan and South Korea. For more than a decade, Liutauras has collaborated with many Lithuanian jazz, funk, and pop musicians and groups, and he performs annually in various music projects across European countries, the USA, Canada, South Korea, and Japan. He also plays in Jievaras Jasinskis' group "Reinless" and, together with this artist, formed the jazz orchestra "Lithuanian JJazz Ensemble," the predecessor of "Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble," in which he also plays. Besides his work recorded in Lithuania, Liutauras has contributed as a guest performer on over ten albums in Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Spain, and the United States. In 2017, he released his critically acclaimed solo double album "Two Different Sides" (in CD and LP format).
