About performer
BOLERO ORIENTAL project connects youth and professionals from the two countries – Latvia and Lithuania and is dedicated to the three elements of music, art and dance. The already well-known in Lithuania temperamental international percussionists Duo Per Gunt - Pavel Giunter and Guntars Freibergs from Latvia, will be joined by one of the most active and expressive Latvian pianists of today, Agnese Eglina and the Festival hosting pianist Guoda Gedvilaitė. The four artists will perform together a programme of modern composers for two pianos and percussion instruments.
Together with the renowned performers, the students of the Contemporary Dance Department of the Vilnius National M.K.Čiurlionis School of Art, under the direction of choreographers/teachers Lina Puodžiukaitė-Lanauskienė, Paulius Prievels and Tadas Almantas (Frankfurt/Main), will perform the spectacular Ravel's BOLERO.
Moreover, the Riga and Vilnius musicians will be joined by the students and graduates of the Wind Instruments Department of the M.K.Čiurlionis Art School in Druskininkai, led by Juozas Mikolainis. This international interdisciplinary production will bring together young people from different artistic disciplines and different cities. It is a real logistical challenge for the organisers and a spectacular sight for everyone who attends!
