About performer
_________________________________________________________________
“Baltasis Kiras” is an indie/folk/rock collective from Vilnius. The band started playing in 2008, gathering in the yard of Liudas Gira – Lithuania’s very own Zappa – located across from the Ministry of Education. Named after a bag brand, the group has since evolved into a rock ‘n’ roll collective.
In 2010, "Baltasis Kiras" released their debut album “Su geltonu snapeliu” (With a Yellow Beak), dedicated to fans of country music. In 2014, they introduced the EP “Amerika” (America), recorded in the legendary LRT Opus studio. From 2015, the band's honorary member lineup included notable musician, medic, drummer, and ambassador of love, Laurynas Šarkinas.
In 2020, the band released their first white vinyl and third studio album, “Tekančiom upėm” (Flowing Rivers). Throughout their journey, over thirty musicians from various parts of Lithuania have played with the group, rotating, evolving, and complementing one another. Some stayed too long; others were shown the backstage exit. Despite it all, "Baltasis Kiras" remains a group of friends, occasionally soaring together like a bird in flight.
Their music helps you stay grounded and move forward with clarity.
