About performer
An unusual combination—two musical instruments seemingly positioned at opposite poles. It is precisely this special union that justifies the name chosen by the duo: “Histérico,” borrowed from the movement of the same name in Suite No. 1, written by composer Raffaele Bellafronte for this unconventional ensemble.
“Histérico” is not about a manner of performance or stormy expression, but about a constant, urgent search and a desire for discovery: new, captivating formulas that allow the guitar—a noble and subtle instrument—to merge with the saxophone, powerful and massive in character.
This distinctive approach by the two young musicians, Davide Di Ienno and Michele Paolino, generates intriguing ideas that continually become a source of audience admiration and inspiration for fellow performers.
Their wide-ranging repertoire has led to collaborations with important institutions in Italy and abroad, including the Italian Cultural Institutes in Lyon, Paris, and Dublin, as well as the Rassegna Musicale d’Autunno in San Marino. Active since 2017, they released their debut album Beginnings within just two years, published by DaVinci Publishing (Osaka). The recording became the result of a spontaneous creative partnership, highlighting both the individual abilities of the musicians and the duo’s artistic potential.
