Event information
Charity art auction for the renovation of the main organ of Merkinė.
- During the auction, guests will be able to purchase works by renowned artists, exotic curiosities, and authentic pieces by creators from the Merkinė region, chat with the artists themselves, and take part in a fun lottery.
- During the break, guests will be able to enjoy complimentary drinks, and the singer Mesijus will treat them to some of his well-known songs.
The auction will be hosted by traveler Vytaras Radzevičius, who will stir up the crowd's enthusiasm.
Vilnius became a city right here in Merkinė, once graced by Lithuania's rulers — including King Władysław Vasa, believed to have lain in state in its historic church. Today, Merkinė is even restoring King Vasa's house, now called the "Little Palace of Lithuania's Rulers."
The organ is a city's defining instrument — its spirit made audible. Ours is in dire shape: worn keys, woodworm-eaten case, bullet-riddled pipes, exhausted bellows.
Experts recommend building new or sourcing similar organs abroad. We're grateful for every contribution!
