The support concert is dedicated to the war refugees from Ukraine already living in Lithuania and Lithuanians who host refugees in their home, as well as volunteers who contributed a lot to make Ukrainians feel welcome in Lithuania.
All donations collected during this concert will be used to provide psychological assistance to the Ukrainian people affected by the war and facing panic attacks, psychological trauma, suicidal thoughts and depression (assistance will be provided to the victims of rape, and aggression as well as children and adolescents)
The concert is symbolically named after the work “Après un rêve” by the French composer Gabriel Fauré, which means “Awakening from a Dream”.
On May 13, 2022 at 7 p.m. a famous international pianist, Alexei Botvinov from Odessa, together with the Lithuanian state ensemble Lietuva, will perform in the Great Hall of Vytautas Magnus University.

About performer
The pianist from Ukraine has given concerts in more than 45 countries.
He has also won the Schumann and Bach competitions in Germany and the Rachmaninov competition in Moscow. In Kaunas he will perform musical compositions by Ukrainian composers Miroslav Skoryk, Alemdar Karamanov, as well as Frederic Chopin, Jan Freidlin and others.
With its latest programs, the ensemble Lietuva reveals the living history of the country and the nation's identity, which is more important than ever. First of all, the audience will hear the orchestral works performed by "Lietuva" from the French-inspired program "Kiss from France". Sopranoes Dovile Kazonaite and Ilona Pliavgo will perform solo parts, dance soloists - Ausra Krasauskaite. Mr. conductor - dr. Egidijus Kaveckas.
The ensemble Lietuva will also perform works for the choir from the collage opera Mazvydas (dir. Kestutis Jakstas, libretto by Arnas Alisauskas, composer Jonas Jurkunas). Giedrius Arbaciauskas, a well-known actor and performer who played the main role of Mazvydas, will join the choir. The event will be crowned by a joint Ukrainian work by the ensemble and Alexei Botvinov.
