Alexandr Mikhailov BUCHMENDEL (Israel), based on the same name novel by Stefan Zweig

The heroes of the short story of the same name by Stefan Zweig find stage life for the first time. Among the great number of talents that Vienna could boast of at the beginning of the 20th century, the name of the book dealer Jakob Mendel shone. A phenomenal connoisseur whose memory kept information about almost all the books ever published, Mendel lived exclusively in the world of books. Communication with them contained both the meaning and the happiness of his life. But everything changed irreversibly when the war began. The book genius collided with Moloch... With precise strokes, Alexander Mikhailov outlines each character, uses the expressive means of both the drama theater and the puppet theater, demonstrating a brilliant artistic technique.
