Alantos muzikos festivalis. ALEKSANDRA ŽVIRBLYTĖ ir PETRAS VYŠNIAUSKAS: Kosminis Čiurlionis
Event information
Event
Alanta Music Festival presents a special concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis.
"Cosmic Čiurlionis" – a surprising and original take on the works of M. K. Čiurlionis and his contemporaries. Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize laureate, saxophonist Petras Vyšniauskas, and renowned Lithuanian pianist Aleksandra Žvirblytė will embark on spontaneous improvisations, weaving together the music of Čiurlionis and his contemporaries – Juozas Gruodis, French impressionist Claude Debussy, Frederic Chopin (who greatly influenced Čiurlionis), Anatolijus Šenderovas (inspired by Čiurlionis), Alvidas Remesa (who lived in Druskininkai and composed a mandatory piece for the Čiurlionis competition), among others.
This is not just a concert, but a creative experiment that invites listeners to experience music history through a modern and unique perspective.
