About performer
The programme features one of the most beautiful works of the great Romantic symphonic tradition – Antonín Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World". Premiered in 1893 in New York, the heart of the so-called "New World," this symphony brought worldwide fame to its composer.
Another highlight of the program is vocal cycles by two prominent Lithuanian composers, performed by the award-winning Gabrielė Bukinė, who never fails to captivate her audience, and the young generation opera soloist Skirmantė Vaičiūtė.
In honor of the 150th birth anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis, fragments from the LNOBT ballet Čiurlionis will also be performed.
