Storytelling Workshop with Milda Varnauskaitė
Event information
How can you turn your own experiences into a story people want to hear? How can you transform your thoughts into a clear, engaging narrative and share it live with an audience?
Vilnius University Culture Centre invites you to a storytelling workshop with professional storyteller Milda Varnauskaitė, one of the leading advocates of the contemporary storytelling tradition in Lithuania.
Storytelling is more than entertainment. It is a live performing art with deep roots in cultures around the world. Since 2018, the Vilnius University Culture Centre has been hosting storytelling salons, where community members share their stories live—not by reading from a text, but by telling them directly to an audience.
This workshop is an opportunity to step into the role of a storyteller. It invites you to explore the storytelling tradition, its principles and practical methods for creating and sharing your own stories. Workshop will be held in Lithuanian.
During the workshop:
- You will discover the genre of live storytelling and its traditions.
- You will learn how to structure a story and identify its central idea.
- You will put storytelling methods into practice.
- You will learn to tell stories in a safe and supportive environment.
- You will meet others who share an interest in the art of live storytelling.
Who is this workshop for?
Anyone who wants to better understand the principles of storytelling and learn how to tell stories live. Whether you already attend the Vilnius University Culture Centre’s storytelling salons or are hearing about them for the first time, this workshop is for anyone who wants to try their hand at storytelling rather than simply listening.
