A Pity We Didn’t Kiss
Vygantas Kazlauskas invites you to a special live music evening featuring the songs of Joe Dassin—songs that evoke the streets of Paris, summer nights, and that sweet longing we feel when remembering what might have been.
At Vilnius’s St. Catherine’s Church, Vygantas will perform Joe Dassin’s songs accompanied by a string orchestra, Tadas Motiečius on accordion, guitarists Tomas Varnagiris and Tomas Maslauskas, and the vocal ensemble "Jazz Island" from the A. Novikas Jazz School.
This is an evening to attend for more than just the music. Come to remember. To smile. Perhaps to let your thoughts drift back to a summer evening, a chance encounter, or a person whose story was never fully told.
You will hear songs we know by heart, even though we never formally learned them. Songs about love, chance, longing, and the things we said—or left unsaid—and the things we never quite did.

About performer
Vygantas became known to the Lithuanian public through television music projects. He is a singer-songwriter who has composed dozens of songs and ballads; he is also a physician and a director frequently invited to work on Lithuanian Song Festivals and a wide variety of concerts and events. Having lived and studied in France, he also performs songs by French composers in the original language. The artist sincerely shares his feelings and memories with the audience, revealing himself to be a dedicated romantic and an artist. "I was born in the city, grew up on the asphalt, and saw flowers blooming in the cracks of the sidewalks," the singer says of himself. "In music, I am constantly seeking opportunities for self-expression and new experiences, which I joyfully share with my listeners."
