In its 111th season, the Old Theatre of Vilnius revisits the history of its building, looking back at the legacy of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre, which once thrived within its walls. For this occasion, the theatre launches a series of musical programs and opera productions. The first fruit of this initiative is the concert Endless Pleasure presented by the legend of British early music – Trevor Pinnock, a world-famous harpsichordist, conductor, and pioneer of the early music revival in Europe. Together with soprano Lauryna Bendžiūnaite, the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, and an international wind ensemble, they will perform masterpieces by two of the most renowned composers of all time: George Frideric Handel (1685–1759) and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791).

Exceptional mastery and artistry that has captivated audiences at world’s most famous concert halls and theatres, the venue that evokes the aura of the Old Opera House, the excellent acoustics – isn’t this endless pleasure?

The concert Endless Pleasure offers a unique opportunity to preview Handel’s opera Acis and Galatea, premiering at the Old Theatre of Vilnius in spring 2025. This production will be directed by Gintaras Varnas and conducted by maestro Trevor Pinnock. In November 2024, not only residents of Vilnius but also audiences at the culture centres of Vilkaviškis and Visaginas will have the chance to enjoy Endless Pleasure.
